Hello Coach Rip,

I'm in my fourth week of SS, all is going fine so far.

I am using WalMart plates, which leave the center of the bar less than 22.5 cm from the floor. I've been improvising in various clumsy ways, and today found that 9mm concrete blocks are ALMOST perfect. When under the plates, they raise the very center of the bar to 23.5 cm, a cm too high.

Is that good enough in this imperfect world?

In case it's relevant, I'm 6 foot tall, 210 pounds.

How much are you deadlifting now?

I think it's close enough for novice work, and that there are more important things to worry about now, like getting to 275.

TY, will do.

What's the prediction on when his bar will bend permanently?

It's already bent. He just hasn't noticed yet.

Does your earlier silence means "good enough for novice work" applies to pretzel shaped bars?

Well, straight bars work better. The program may require a rudimentary investment.
