I've been keeping a training blog since late October 2009. Thought I would provide the link over here for those who give a rat's ass. Feel free to comment on any stupidity I may be displaying. Thank you in advance.

Enjoy. (http://bowtiegym.blogspot.com/)

Hey Tim,

350 small block. Nothing too serious. I've owned it for years, but most of its time is spent in storage. I'm a student so I don't have too much money these days to dump into it and a lot of work needs to be done. Slowly, but surely it will come along - like my training.

Thanks for the reply.

I've been averaging only two lifts per week, but I'm still managing PR's. Hit 335 x 5 x 3 sets on the squat and 370 x 5 x 1 set on the dead. The dead is lacking slightly due to me keeping the frequency of pulling low because of the SI joint issue.

Here are my squats from yesterday:

Critiques on the squat technique are welcome. My third set seems to be the best because I was finally able to keep my head down. Thanks in advance.

Freakin' pumped! Crushed my squat record today. My previous 1-rep max was 345 x 1. Today I nailed 350 x 5 x 3 sets. Thank you Coach Rippetoe and Hood milk!

Drink milk. Stay strong.

I'm pleased to report that I went 9 for 9 in my first full powerlifting meet. I left a lot of weight on the platform, but that's o.k. I had a freakin' blast doing it! The next meet is in May and I'm looking forward to it. My lifts were as follows:

Squat 395 PR
Bench Press 300 PR
Deadlift 435 PR (double overhand mind you)

Thanks to Coach Polska for all the support. Couldn't have done it without him.

Going to deload a bit on Wednesday by dropping 10% on lifts, maybe Friday as well depending on how I feel. Then back to the novice progression starting next Monday.

Drink milk. Stay strong.

Sweet blog! Is the gym yours? Or public? Or, just the name of the blog?

Hey Mike,

Yes, the gym is mine. It's not public. It's just my garage with my Chevelle stuffed in one bay and my gym stuffed in the other. It gets the job done, but I sure do wish it had heat. Get's a little chilly during the winter time. Not looking forward to tomorrow, but what needs to be done needs to be done. Tomorrow's high is projected to be a tepid 34 degrees and sunny. At least it's sunny.

Krump,

Thanks for the congrats. The meet was unbelievable. It's amazing what a good day of lifting under heavy weights, or junior varsity weights in this case - depending on who's reading this, will do for your training. A laundry list of "lessons learned" were experienced throughout the meet. If you haven't competed yet - DO IT! Your training will thank you for it. Seriously.
