I really want to do this race. I think I'm in pretty good cardiovascular shape, despite only really doing weight training, but I haven't done much running in the last few months.

There's an upcoming race in Pennsylvania in early May. Could I be ready for the race by then? What should I do to prepare?

They've got you covered. You can decide for yourself how useful each of their exercise recommendations are, but it still gives you some insight as to what to expect.

This is a total copy of "tough guy" a British event.

Still awesome though. But not something I could ever do!

I know a somebody who has done it, he trains purely with Ross Enamait stuff plus some running and MMA.

In my book, their exercise recommendations are a cross between core workouts and the worst of crossfit. Well, their interval sprint work sounds good.

Would I be covered for this race, continuing starting strength, while throwing in some sprint intervals? Or would I have to do more cardiovascular preparation?

It looks like a lot of fun--I'd love to give it a try if it ever comes to my neck of the woods.

If I were training for it, I would do some kind of strength/met-con hybrid like Crossfit Football or the now lost Crossfit Wichita Falls program, and also build in some mental-strength work. I'm not sure what that last element would look like, but maybe you can search what special forces people do in their basic training that mimic the mental challenges that are built into this race. Crawling in the mud. Jumping into the nearest very cold body of water for a swim. Running up hills with a heavy log or pulling a weighted sled. Stuff like that.
