Says 3.3 cm heel height. I'm not too worried about too high of a heel because I have been doing all my lifts in Chuck Taylors the past 8 or so months. I am mainly looking to grab these for Squats and Cleans/Snatches and plan on still deadlifting in my chucks. Unless it would be overall smarter to buy these, reduce the heel and do all the lifts in them?
So i realize 3.3 CM is like 1.3 inches, which according to many is too high for a deadlift, but is it too high for a squat? I know that most Weightlifters use 1"+ heels for the Olys.
Justin from 70sbig maybe you could chime in because I'm pretty sure you said you train in 3/4" VS's but I could not find them on their website.
Thanks for any and all tips!

Hello Casey, I'm not Justin from 70's big but I believe I can help you.
I own those shoes. They are the same shoes Justin from 70sbig.com wears. The heel height is about 3/4" taller than the sole under the toe. It may be about 1" off the ground but your toes aren't flat on the ground either. This is the shoe he's talking about and it works great for everything except heavy deads. Your experience in them with heavy deads will vary depending on how you're built. Buy them, you'll like 'em.

An email is posted for a discount on the shoes. :)

The heel height is identical to my Pendlay Do-Wins. After you subtract the height of the shoe by the ball of the foot, you'll be left with ~2cm, which is 3/4".

that ain't true, far as I know.
The difference between the front of the lifting shoe to the back heel is 2.3cm. The toebox is 1cm and the heel height is 3.3cm. That is the change in height.
I fucking dealt with this for months. This shoe is about .9inches. Not saying that's bad, but I bought the Rogue's because they're a little lower and i like to pull with a heel.

OK, thanks for the clarification. I assumed that since the external heel height on the VS matched the Pendlay Do-Wins (which are the same as the Rogue Do-Wins), that the ball-of-foot height would be similar. Sounds like the VS is thinner near the front, and thus your 0.9" rise vs. the 3/4" rise on Pendlay/Rogue Do-Wins.
Also, the shoes can be chopped down. I had mine chopped down to match the new Rogue Rip shoes.

I just measured to double check. The difference between the toe and heel is barely over 3/4". Almost 7/8" but not quite.

I am assuming that the Sales Rep, the same guy who gets your deals on the shoes, knows what he's talking about.
That doesn't make the shoes a bad idea. The key for me was that I've been squatting and deadlifting with .75inch plates under my heels. I like the way it feels, so I wanted a similar shoe. I wasn't sure I could deadlift with the extra heel height(.9in instead of .75in)--maybe it would have been even better! I just knew I liked the .75 inch rise, so I went with the 2010 Rogue Do-wins.
They do cost an additional 60 bucks, but really, I just wasted $515 on two graduate school applications, so obviously I can afford to waste some cash.
