Here's some videos of guys passing out after deadlifts + other lifts.

Was wondering what your take on this is? IMO these guys are pushing their bodies to the limit, in a good way.

Man blacks out a little after 585 lbs deadlift (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1UUAafWhJ4)

Passing out on a 195kg clean (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3wx1cqkT5s)

Hugo Girard passes out with 500lbs atlas stone in hand (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aeZuFJNuVTY)

Ive blacked out momentarily many times, and generally feeled light headed when deadlifting or cleaning with great effort.

I think it is half to do with an extremely strongly held valsalva maneuver and the maximal challenge to the nervous system.

This is a problem for rack pulls too.

Haven't blacked out, but my vision sometimes gets momentarily blurry. Anyone else notice this?

I get head-rushes occasionally DLing when I'm not on top form (eaten crap/slept crap or recent illness).
Heavy deadlifts are a big strain on the CNS and CVS, so I'm not surprised. :)

I usually see stars and my vision fades, but I've never passed out.

The first guy's video was featured on Tosh.O and mocked pretty heavily.

Was there someone(s) out there were burting blood vessels in their eyes during a pull, or am I imagining things?

Petechial haemorrhages are pretty common. I get them on my face sometimes after sessions. They go away after a day or so. Common in the eyes for a some people.

I had a link to a video of this one guy who was going for a PR on the squat, and he headbutted the bar before his lift, got under it, and unracked the barbell, then blood started pissing out of his forehead from the internal pressure, and they had to rack the bar back.. The was a puddle of blood on the floor, LOL

I usually can't hear properly for a few minutes after a really tough squat set. Weird doppler effect stuff. Never blacked out deadlifting, though I did pass out once after getting hit hard in my funnybone.
