It's a little over a year away and the best in the world are going to start getting ready now. There could be several 1000+ pound deadlifts in one day there.
I just jizzed my pants.
Thank you for posting this.

I might have to schedule this into my road trip

Reading the title, I thought this would be a challenge to forum members to DL 1008#. I am somewhat disappointed.

I propose an Ends&Pieces Meetup in Cleveland, 2011

Sick! Hopefully KK confirms. Bolton, Magnusson, Savickas, and KK head-to-head... fucking awesome.

Awesome, wish I could be there, and yeah, I hope KK signs up too.

I will definitely be in Cleveland for this. I am going to buy a ticket and book a hotel as soon as they confirm a date.

Slighty off topic but,
Magnusson is such a nice guy. I remember there was a documentary about him and his british wife who is also a strongwoman.
They were both such a lovely couple who happened to both have freak strength. The thing is though, they had them a baby. Come 2025 we should see some magical lifts.

Magnusson is pretty young, and could surely up his strength considerably by the time of the comp.
I know Bolton & Konstantinovs are the favourites for this, but Im hoping magnusson can give them a good challenge.

If KK confirms, I might just have to go see Cleveland. And I might just jizz...in...my pants.

Thanks for posting that vid, Dastardly! I had that saved at home but someone deleted it. I love that Magnusson is such a monster of a bloke but he has this sort of high, kid like voice haha.
Oh, and that DL comp would be awesome. Could you imagine standing in the warmup room with a field of competitors like that?

I trained with Benedikt Magnusson and his wife Gemma a couple of years back. Lovely people.

Misha anyone?
I thought he killed somebody in a drunk driving accident and may be in jail.

There was debate over what actually happened.

In any case, I don't think Kokylaev would contend. He's an incredible athlete, but he spends too much time at stuff other than deadlifting to be one of the top guys at a competition like this.

Koklyaev definitely has a monster deadlift (400kg plus), but I don't think he'd have a chance against KK, Bolton, or Bene -- possibly the three greatest deadlifters ever.

Oh wow. If I am still anywhere within driving distance of Cleveland, I will be there. This would be epic.
May is pretty much exam time for me for the next few years but I sure as hell ain't going to miss this if I can help it!

I am actually excited to see that Mark Felix is confirmed - I am a fan. I don't think he can beat-out this field but he has one hell of a back. He too has a soft, high pitched voice and gentle demeanor. It is kind of fun to see that coming out of a behemoth of a man.
Anyways, here's Felix pulling 460 kg from 19 inches 3 times.
