Yeah, you can pretty much throw anything you want in it.

It is milk that is frozen while it is getting stirred, which introduces air into the mix, so it is not a block of ice.

One time, after a fair amount of 'medicine' I shredded some buffalo wings into chunks, froze em, and made ice cream. Not the best, but i give myself points for creativity...

You can get an ice cream maker for about $50 on amazon.

You can make ice cream in a few minutes by mixing cold cream and frozen fruit in a blender. Add cold sweetened condensed milk or chocolate syrup or whatever if you want it sweeter. Add whatever else-- cinnamon, vanilla, toasted chopped nuts-- at the appropriate time.
