It's what you have. After all these years being "America's Hat" you've got your thing, and it's hockey. You've lost the lumberjacking (Axemen) and Flapjacks (Aunt Jamima), so what's left? You won the gold in 2002, and 20 min later everyone but you forgot that it ever happened. For you to lose this coming match will be a blow to your national identity that's simply too terrible to witness. It'll leave a scar in your racial memory too deep to easily laugh off. A scar I would never wish upon our polite, quaint, northern friends. Particularly after routing the Soviets like you just did..........That would be a long fall down. I know the American team will take their beating like men. They will feel the bitter sting of defeat for hours, possibly a day; and then welcome all the Canadians back to play in the NHL.....you know....their jobs.... where they make a living...in America. So good luck my Canadian friends, and don't think that all of America is against you........:D

The Cannucks can lick my sack.

Booing the US in hockey matches where we're playing Eastern European opponents, both in this olympics and in youth tournament played in Vancouver? A pathetic betrayal of what should be our Anglo solidarity in favor of those godless Huns from the east!

I hope Canada fucks up America worse than George W. Bush did.

Fuck Canada. If it weren't for their fucking cold air I wouldn't have to deal with winter at all. Nice people, though. Good beer.

I hope America fucks up the Canadans worse than obama is trying to fuck up America. Although I agree with Smiler, the people are great, and Kokanee is good.

Go Canada!

I dont know anything about hockey, but it was an excellent game to watch. Such dramatic timing of scoring.

During the last segment I was actually yelling at the TV, telling Canada to defend their bloody goal as they just needed to protect their lead for a minute.

When USA scored making it 2:2 !

I was totally expecting USA to win then.

With all your players catching plane tickets back to the U.S. in the next few days I want you to contemplate how close that was for your nation, and to share with them how they are truly Canadian hero's. It dosen't matter to you that they live and play in the U.S. as members of what here is a 3rd tier sport. I doesn't matter to you that your nations pride was nearly stripped from you by a group of 25 year old 2nd stringers from the U.S. Let them know how appreciative you are that they proved to the world that you can still play a sport you created a decade ago better that anybody, by one point..... in overtime.

Thanks for employing all the farm kids from rural Canada. It is a shame that they have to play in cities in the US that do not understand or appreciate the sport. Fortunately there are some great hockey cities in the US and people intelligent enough to follow the game. The reason the US Olympic team was "a group of 25 year old 2nd stringers" was because the first line on all there teams were from Canada. It is funning how National pride is attached to Sports, "The Miracle on ICE" when the US beat Russia, yes it was a great game but, it was America beating its chest that was heard around the world. These Olympics we crushed the Russians and beat every other team in the tournament when it mattered!

This will all pass and we will go back to being to being the quiet polite neighbors from the great white north.

This is the trademark of a sore loser - blame it on the fact that your team doesn't give a shit. If you really don't care about hockey as much as you're trying to claim you don't, then why do you have so much sand in your vagina?

I couldn't give a fuck about how Americans rank sports. You guys consider baseball to be a 1st tier sport - talk about poor taste.

"You guys consider baseball to be a 1st tier sport"

Win, except that other countries consider cricket to be a first tier sport. Lets take baseball and extend if for 5 days. Yeah, great idea, that'll be fun.

Now that it's degenerated into name calling, over the internet, you can stop. Of course we care, thats why I'm talking shit... Shit talk is recognized and appreciated, regardless of your "side". Less than that, you just come off vulgar, and childish. That's not a take. Stay pithy and tell me I'm an idiot with your razor wit, please. Otherwise.....
