My kids like coloring them, but don't like eating them. Here is what I plan to do...

I was thinking you were going to give yourself chocolate poisoning when I realised you meant actual eggs.

Yeah, in the US, we do actual Easter (chicken) egg hunts and shit. Boiled, painted and hidden around the house and/or yard. Send the kids around finding them all. Have a few plastic one with cash stuffed inside. Easter.

In the UK, the tell you to piss off to Woolworths and get your giant corporate commercial chocolate sugar HOLLOW egg. But now Woolworths has fucked off, so now everyone's fucked for Easter.

That's a completely 100% accurate description. In fact, I copied and pasted it EXACTLY from Bill Bryson's, Notes from a Small Island.

I was stuck at my inlaws on good friday and they had boiled a dozen eggs for the kids to dye and do whatever to. Well after the kids had lost interest and they brought out the "snack food" I started peeling eggs and eating away :p

I ate 4-5 hardboiled eggs, which tied me over till dinner :) I think they thought I was insane, but what else is new :p

In Greece we boil the eggs, paint them red, then we knock them against other eggs in a competition to see who has the hardest egg. Then we eat the eggs. I just thought you should all know. Part of cultural cross-whatchumyacallit-ization.
