I has them.

I'm not going to post pictures (I'm sure you're all making sad faces now), so you'll just have to take my word for it.

On both legs, near where my thigh joins the hip. Right under my pants pockets, essentially. Apparently my legs got swole (comparatively) pretty damn fast. I didn't take measurements before hand, but a bunch of my shorts and pants fit funny now. Which is both annoying and awesome.

My girlfriend claims cocoa butter will help them heal.

Anyone else got any training related skin abnormalities they'd like to discuss?

Your girlfriend is out to lunch. There ain't no cure and anyone who tells you otherwise is lying. No oil, salve, ointment, or magic incantation removes stretch marks. ... and there's no magic diet or kangaroo oil that will keep you from getting them. Some people get em and some people don't.

Welcome to the club.

There are already many well established side-effects of Starting Strength. They've been discussed numerous times, there have been pleas to Rip to include these in a disclaimer in the 3rd edition of SS:BBT, there have even been threats of claiming for compensation from Rip as a result of following SS.

You will get stretch marks.
You will have to buy new clothes.
Your character may be called into question with 'steroid' allegations.
Your food bill will dramatically increase.
You will have chaffing between your thighs in the summer.
You might bloody your shins.
You are going to hurt some/all of the time.
You may get fat, if YNDTP.
You will dislike personal trainers, even if they were your friend before.

There are probably more.

Mine are vastly beyond just that location. Gaining 50lbs you get stretch marks on your upper back (near armpits), ALL over my ass (thanks, squats) and around my hips to where you describe, plus a little here and there.

lol. 'Here and there.'

Yeah, I have them as well. Granted, I got mine when I start progressing through puberty. They've gotten worse with strength training. I have them all over my biceps. Go figure, eh. Also have them on my sexy love handles. They will start fading in time. There are creams that help. Nothing 'cures' or erases them. At best, you can find some creams that make them less visible.

I don't give a shit about my stretch marks, but it makes for interesting conversation. If you're worried about getting girls, I'd suggest you worry more about getting richer than about getting rid of your stretch marks.

Some people get stretch marks easier than others. It has to do with the elasticity of the skin as to how badly you'll get them and also how fast you're gaining weight in relation to how quickly the skin can adapt to the new growth.

Kangaroo oil is extremely expensive anyways.

So true, One of the new trainers came and introduced himself while I was between sets, and I already assumed he wouldn't know what he was talking about.

The only trainers I care for are the female variety who walk around with their behinds jiggling in TNA pants.

...no matter how many times they demonstrate a goodmorning, i just can't seem to get it right and need to keep asking.

Yeah. I haven't checked elsewhere yet. None on the upper body yet, because I had so little mass there to start with.

Just wait until I can actually eat properly!

Anyone else have previous stretch marks on their thighs become LESS noticeable due to growth? Got some during puberty and big ol' adductors have restretched the skin it seems.

This has happened to me - on my upper thighs and hips.

Mousey boys will turn to MEN
You will gain a better control over your 'fight or flight'
Your hands will stop sweating
Your confidence with skyrocket
You'll develop calluses
Starved skinny people will annoy you
The world's problems will become apparent
You'll thrive on pain
You'll know manual labor
You will want to blast off into the sun
You may see stars after squatting
You may get nose bleeds
You'll get more casual glances from the opposite sex
You'll have pecs that you can make bounce
You'll have muscles that you can make bounce
You will look more rugged
Unhealthy skinny people will scare you
Unhealthy fat people will scare you
You will become a Strength Training elitist

People not doing either pull-ups or dips at the park facilites will be frowned upon while they're doing their upside-down rows, crotch stretches, balance beams, contortions, and silly bullshit...

You'll be astounded that names like Rippetoe & Starr, are not ubiquitous

Ladies will look sexier with 10lbs added to their wispy frames (not the Andro-crossfit type; more like the volleyball player type)

You'll take a deep breath after a set of squats and be STOKED!

You'll get a pump that's better than comming to elightenment, and nirvana

You laugh at those who don't use chalk, even at the park facilities

And hopefully, someday, your peers will gain your acceptance...
