Alright, sometime I am to tired/lazy/out of groceries/whatever to have a good meaty meal to make. At those times I will dig into my 'Earthquake' supplies and grab can of chili.

There are dozens of brands of chili available, I think some of it is re-labelled dog food, others are good, some are great.

What is your favorite brand of Chili? What has the most grams of Protein? What has the least amount of shit fillers and salt?

I would love it if this thread could point me to the ulitmate canned chili so i can go get a couple of cases of it for occaisional regular meals as well as replenishing my Earthquake stock...

Thanks,
Bowdirk

I have no idea as far as nutritional value is concerned but I do know that Wolf Brand chili is my personal favorite. I was so devastated when I moved from Texas to Northern California and there was none to be found.

For whatever reason, last weekend when I was at the store this thread popped into my mind and I bought literally one of each of the kinds of canned/jarred chili in the store. I have now finished them all and have to report... the best was Hormel's turkey chili with no beans. I definitely did not expect it, but the quality of the meat is good and the flavor of the sauce component is surprisingly tasty! I could do with less salt in all of them but I imagine that's hard to get away from in canned foods. It's also 46 grams of protein per can... which was just above a dollar when I bought it, albeit on sale! Thanks for throwing down the gauntlet on this one. I found a new product that I imagine will stock my shelves from now on.

I like to go with the Gravy Train. Just add water and BAM. Gravy.
