Hello.
I'm coming after a 3 month break and I want to begin the Starting Strength program but I'm having some problems.
The most important is that I don't have plates smaller than 2.5 kg. That would mean a 5 kg increase for the pressing exercises (or 10 lbs if I'm right). Buying smaller plates isn't an option right now so that's why I'm asking for help.
How is the progression going to happen, from workout to workout, if the minimum weight that I can load on the bar is 5kg total.
From what I read in the book (SS), that would be the desired wieght for deadlifts and squats.
Is there a way to increase the weight for the pressing exercises with 5 kg and the SQ and DL with 10 kg (I'm thinking of being proportional) and maybe stay at that certain weight for some time?

P.S. I searched the forum but maybe I missed the right thread, so if the answer is there, just a point in the right direction would be enough.

Thx.

Your search foo is not great...

the answer is to buy smaller plates or plate equivalents. if you're in prison or something then just do what you can but for the press it'll be terrible. you'll probably be pressing the same weight for a month at a time...

anyway for the presses once you start stalling you could try working from 3x3 to 3x4 ... 3x6 then upping the weight and going back to 3x3... it won't be SS but something to try.

Thx for the redirect. I certainly missed that thread.
I looks like if you can only work with what you got, getting the reps for a certain weight and moving up after that is the solution.
Kind of what I expected.
