Sorry if this has been asked before, I did a cursory search but didn't find anything.

I just finished my 7th Cycle of Wendler, but for the last three+ months, I've been doing so on a caloric deficit where I've dropped the assistance work and added some conditioning.

The fat loss itself is coming along great (about 24 pounds so far), but the hits to strength have become a bit of an issue, which was anticipated. My main concern is that some of my lifts are about to stall, whereas I don't think they would be stalling on maintenance, or surely, a surplus.

My question is, since I'm trying to drop weight, do I simply keep my lifts at a certain level and just try and maintain, or, is it worth doing a proper reset and working back up on a stall? Keep in mind that a reset on Wendler can take a good amount of time to work your way back up due to the slow and steady nature of the program.

The confusion revolves around the fact that, if I really wanted to, I could blast through some of those plateaus if I put my mind/diet to it, but I'm not ready just yet to stop the "cut", so I'm wondering if it's worth just trying to maintain those lifts, rather than reset.

Thanks in advance for all of your help.

My only advice for a weight cut while trying to strength train is this:

1) Get your energy sources from carbs and keep your fat extremely low on a day to day basis

2) Frequency with the big lifts. Higher frequency helps keep pace with the weight loss

3) Well timed cheat meal the night before heavy workouts - high fat, high sodium, starch

I'm in a similar boat. Eating lots of chicken breasts & vegetables. Would something like a steak & baked potato be appropriate for cheat meals?

Yes. Maybe 2 baked potatoes with butter and cheese. Big fatty T-Bone. These cheat meals are different than a Bodybuilding cheat meal, which is more of a carb load.

No problem there. When's the new book coming out?

Ha. Not a bad idea.
