Strength gains while cutting?

Could I lift heavy 3x per week (MWF) and run long distances (3-4 miles) 3x per week (TuThSa) on a caloric deficit and still make strength gains?

Highly unlikely, unless you are somewhat unadapted/unexposed to the lifts.
