View Full Version : Alternating sets/reps on split routine ID?

Since my 5-3-1 has pretty much morphed into a split routine, with intensity day being the 5-3-1, I'm curious if you've ever programmed TM or SR intensity days with alternating sets/reps.

Something like week 1 1x5, week 2 2x3, week 3 1x5 using percentages of 1rm the way Jim has it set up. Volume days are 3x5 for me(age 45).

Your thoughts?

Yeah, something like that usually works well. Anything to keep you from getting stale
