What are your thoughts on adding an additional recovery or light day between the intensity and volume days on a 3 day TM setup? I wanted to leave some additional room for conditioning/recreational sports, but still keep things moving on the strength front. I'm thinking the setup would look something like this:
Week 1 Volume, Recovery, Intensity
Week 2 Recovery, Volume, Recovery
Week 3 Intensity, Recovery, Volume
Week 4 Recovery, Intensity, Recovery
This method would lead to 3 PR attempts on intensity days every 4 weeks.
My main concern is that the two light weeks wouldn't include enough volume for sustained gains. Any thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
