View Full Version : Should I do DB Bench Press instead of using a barbell for a while?

Hey Rip, I'm following the original SS program and every lift is going up fast except I can't get my bench press up no matter what I try. I tried fixing my form and deloading and I keep stalling at 115lb. I was thinking about this.

Since you use your shoulders less in DB Bench Press which helps focus on your chest and because of that effects your military press strength less, it would be a good idea to do it for a while, and when I go up 15lb in each dumbbell and 20lb in my military press I'll be able to barbell bench press more. Good idea?

If not, how do I stop stalling?

Either your form is jacked up or you are severely underweight. I would guess that it is a form/technique issue
