Narrow grip clean,wide grip jerk

I just found this video of Vencelas Dabya 170kg clean and jerk.

Notice the change of grip width after the clean, why does he change is grip? Are there any benefits ?

The wider jerk grip shortens the distance to lockout from the shoulders. He should learn to clean with the same grip he jerks with. Much less room for an error.

Rip, this Chinese lifter does something similar but she started clean stance with a snatch and racked it normal: Seems a new evolution for experienced lifters? Agree open for room for error hence should have major technique warning on this.

The title of that video has always cracked me up. It's as if the "new technique" is extremely innovative and monumental, and nobody has ever thought of it before!
