I vote for you to do the set too. You can keep it light - 160kg or something

Doesn't Rip talk about doing 100 rep sets on a 30 second clock to build work capacity? That would be a fun way to spend 50 minutes..

We've already been out eating when he was in DK. I ate a steak faster than him. Why he torments me...

    Session 1/25

Harder than I expected. Was thinking I'd breeze through and wasn't focused. Plus only 5 hours sleep the night before and broken coffee machine do under-caffeinated. Some technical issues related to lack of focus.

    Thursday 13th March

Squat: up to 160kg x 5 x 5 @ 8 - belted, wrist wraps, thumb around. First three sets sloppy - bar riding too high and getting off balance. Moved grip out slightly (ring finger on rings) to prioritise bar position and helped a lot. 2-3 minutes rest between sets.

Close grip bench: up to 95kg x 5 x 5 @ 7,7,8,10,10 - first two sets flew up. Third bit harder. Almost missed last rep of 4 and 5. Only took 60-90s rest, triceps were fried. Wider (normal, not comp) grip for last set. More rest between sets, don't get sloppy just because it feels light at the start.

    Stiff leg deadlift: up to 150kg x 5 x 2 @ 7-8 - Easier than I expected, but then they were light.

In other news, my wife pulled 60kg x 5 on Wednesday night. She'd done 52.5kg x 5 but wanted to test herself - I was pretty proud of her doing the big wheels in her 4th ever deadlift session. She's starting to ask about how strong she might be able to get. This shit gets addictive fast..

Tell her she'll get stronger than you.

My wife squats 3x5 50 kg easy - which is nice as well. With small kids training almost becomes couple time.

She squatted 40 x 5 x 3 in that session too, and definitely had more in the tank. Think she's actually pretty strong.

Only problem with couple time training is we have no space round the rack so changing plates is pretty hard work.
