Thanks everyone for the kind words after the meet.

    4/29 - Wednesday

I decided to get back into the swing of things today and start my new program. I don't have a next meet picked out and though I really want to do the NJ states in August, I kind of want a proper off season and to give my new routine a chance.

I underestimated how wiped I still am from my meet/how much my shoulder would hurt and fumbled around trying to find the right weight for my sets of 8, so I just ended up messing around.

    Press: 45x10x2, 95x5, 115x5, 135x5, 155x2, 175x2, 165x5, 155x8, 135x10
I thought I would get 175x8, I was wrong. 155 is my starting number, so be it.

    Saturday 5/2

My Ohio power bar and power rack came!!!!
I couldn't afford to build the whole home gym in one shot so no home gainz yet, but soon, very excited.

I went in for an early morning session. I learned a lot.

    Squat: 135x5, 185x5, 225x3, 275x3, 315x2, 365x1.. Here's where it gets interesting.
I was supposed to hit a top set of 8. I thought I would pick an easy 385x8, WRONG! I was gassed after 4 reps. I backed off to 365x8 and almost puked. I literally died. I looked back at my training log, I hadnt don't more than 5 reps above 185lbs since the middle of March. I am out of shape, I was battling injuries the last 2 month before the meet and just was hitting singles to stay strong. I did a back off set of 315x10. Ears ringing and heart pounding I called it quits. I'M going to keep adding 5lbs to the top set each workout and try to add another back off set next time. I was not expecting this but it's ok, it's off season.

At least you got your volume in before you left us. We'll miss you, Tom.
