Short answer: Eating appropriate amounts of food. Longer answer: Back when he was but a skinny little young man, after he stated aloud his intention to get strong, several fine folks at his gym told him to eat and gain weight (as this is an an important part of a productive strategy for achieving his goal). He took this advice to heart. He did his research on eating to support his lifting (and recovery); how much to eat, what to eat, how much protein, how many carbs, how much fat. He paid careful attention to his diet, to insure he would meet his dietary needs to recover from the stress imparted in the gym. He did this, repeatedly, day after day after day, for an extended period of time. He was serious about his goals. He ate like it was his job. It's very simple. It's not easy, it's just not complicated.
