Such a target rich instagram, where to begin? The smith machine, the toothpick legs, the manpon on the bar, the impaired judgement?
The best part is the sound he makes when he's going down.
Seriously though how do you let that video get out?
Another Lifetime Fitness experience.
Trainer working with a kid that looks to be 15-17 years old. Doing rack pulls on the power rack with the bar slightly above the knee so ROM is only a few inches. Kid is wearing 'paws' on his hands like these things: Amazon.com : Gym Glove Alternative | Leather and Neoprene Weight Lifting Grips | 3 Pack Blue, Black, Grey : Exercise Gloves : Sports & Outdoors Never seen those before so I had to look it up.
There's moderate weight on the bar for someone working with a trainer - 285# or so. So he puts on his paws, grabs the bar, gets in a reasonable starting position and before moving the bar has totally flexed his back round. The whole motion was done with the upper back like his hip angle didn't even change. Bounced 8-10 up and down and called it a set. Trainer just watched dis-interested.
Well, this showed up today at my gym. For reference, the culprits are two young and strong guys who sumo deadlift 400+ and drop the weight. There are not enough bumpers for for anyone who deadlifts over 315#. There is also a HIIT class In The "functional fitness" room from 5:30 to 6:30 PM so you can't lift in there during prime hours. That being said, I'm "general strength training" and not "powerlifting", so the rules don't apply to me 🙅*♂️
