Are there any pass/fail stats available for the SS coach cert? For instance - 50% pass rate for general attendees, 80% pass rate for those that qualify for the written. Would like to attend Denver seminar, but have not yet completed LP on all lifts so considering Springfield instead, wasn't sure if that would have any bearing on the likelihood of passing... What options are there for retaking the exam, if necessary, or would one need to attend a full seminar to be given another shot?

Once again it's time to return to AK CrossFit for another Starting Strength Training Camp, and on Sunday, June 30th we will cover the Squat. I'll be covering the low bar back squat as detailed in the 3rd Edition of Starting Strength: Basic Barbell Training. Once again, our host facility will be our friends at AK CrossFit, who have a nice location very central to the city and close to mass transit.

The session will begin with a lecture focused on the basics of the movement and will include a discussion of the anatomy and forces at work in the lift. We will then move into a practical session with plenty of time under the bar, so that all participants can put into practice the concepts addressed in the lecture while receiving coaching through their warm up and work sets. Afterwards, we will return for a discussion of programming and how to identify and correct common technical problems. The camp will wrap up with a question and answer session.

Whether you are just starting out with strength training, struggling with the basics of the lift, looking to polish your technique and understanding of these movements, or wanting a taste of what a full-blown seminar will offer, you will come away with valuable insights and experience to benefit your training.

Proper weightlifting shoes, a cotton t-shirt, and STRETCHY shorts are highly recommended and if participants have weightlifting belts, they are encouraged to bring them.

Attendance will be capped at eight to allow for individualized instruction.
