    I am going to Dr.Ken Leistners place today,they are holding a PL meet as a charity event for Ruff House dog rescue. My friend Pat Susco is going to do a DL exibition and Pat Povalatkis is going to do some grip feats of strength. I will talk with DR. Ken and see if he can pull out one of my old programs from when I trained at his gym 2x a week. I seemed to have made my best progress on his programs,of court I was younger then, I am older then that now.

    Thursday 7/20/17
    I intended to do some light sqts since my hamstrings felt sore and though it would help loosen my up for DL's.
    After doing the empty bar for 10 slow reps I put on 95lbs and on the 3rd rep I felt my right hamstring cramping.
    I pulled my bench into the sqt rack and did 3 sets of box sqts to just parallel.
    SB box sqt 95/5 5 5
    Press 45/10 65/5 75/2 80/1 85/1 88/1 90/1 75/6 6 back off
    DB hammer curls 20/8 30thick grips/6 6 6
    Decided to do some rack pulls with the bar just above the knee cap
    115/6 165/3 185/3 205/3 225/3 255/3

    Rest that hammy. I used to do box squats when my knees weren't as bad. I could never do regular squats because of my limited knee ROM due to arthritis. I just do trap bar deads now, a sort of hybrid between squats and regular Dls

    Thanks John, the hamstring felt fine today. It seemed it was severe DOMS. I did have a trap bar and used to do them quite a bit years ago. When my son moved to N.C. i let him take it.He has been using it because he has a shoulder problem now and even though he has a SSB he likes the trap bar.

    Jerry, does doing a set of machine leg presses help after doing a working set of barbell squats? I'd be wiped out unless something was preventing me from going 100% on the squats, like bad knees or back
