The "TRAD" start has better bar path.

    L

    fucking

    O

    fucking

    L

The "RIP" start actually moves forward more is the 1st pull (floor to knee).
The "TRAD" is straighter . . . They are mix matching things here, so its all fucked up.
    The one of the Right, the bar goes almost a half-plate-diameter forward . . . . 9".
The left (trad) . . is about half that, maybe more.

The Rip clean is about 1"-2" higher . . . bar looks all wonky in the front view (tilted different way in each style).
Funny the RIP pull looks way higher in the front view (side-by-side-comparison) . . but if you throw the bar nearly a foot towards the camera, and the camera is lower than the bar . . .things will look higher (cuz its closer). In that front view, Alan looks smaller for some reason (farther back).

My video the tick marks are hard to see, you have to fullscreen it to make them out (hence the screenshot of the tracking software above)

Its all fucked up, on so many levels. How could anyone expect this to scientific at all . . esp. the sciencey SSC crowd, and Rip.

It reminds me of this totally unbiased AK47 vs AR15 VIDEO

    6-9-2017 FRI

    -CLEAN & SQ JERK-
. warm up, x5: OHS; CGOHS; BTN CG DROPS; DROPS fr FRONT RACK
    . 95 (1+2); 95 (1+2); 115 (1+1); 135; 155; 170; 180; 190x(1+1)x 9sets
    . got 5 or 6 standing up . . so like 15 front squats @ 190 (9 cleans, 5 OHS stands)
. so same work sorta as a Fsqt workout, so stopped there

    -BACK SQUAT-
    . just working on patterning/form
    . 115x5; 165x3; 215x3; 235x3

    -UPPER BACK ROW MACHINE-
    . 90 4x10

    entire C&J progression, from bar to 190's;
    omitted some of lighter weight sets;
think the last 190 was a repeat . . .maybe
maybe a pressout on one. . . still not good, but getting better
at least hit all the warm ups. . . .
    most of fails were close
    only one was ridiculous IMO

    6-10-2017. SAT PM

    -CLEAN n SQUAT JERK-
    . 95*1; 110*1*15±
. just working on techinque....like a techinque oly whore phagg
. I kinda view this as active recovery too

Also note: shoulders have limbered up quite a bit, I used to have to do a bunch of PVC dislocates, etc, Etc,ETC to get loose for squat jerk. Not really anymore, just some bar work and leaning into the rach does it now....alot less pain too. Really optimistic now.

    6-11-2017. Sun

-hi hang snatch hi pull + hi hang snatch

. pretty much from tall position...barely unlocking knees
. Working on the pull under
    . 95*1(1+1)*18±sets
. Seems loopy, but light weights are going to do that I guess.
. The bar is pretty much rubbing my belly and chest in the high pull, can't keep it any closer than that
. And looks to follow the same path in the full snatch.
    . Still not good
. I'm trying to exaggerate stay over the bar to the last possible sec
. What happens (I think) is the bar comes too far IN my hips doing this slow exaggerated movement
. Wouldnt necessarily go down this way doing a full lift at full speed (without pause)....at least that's my thinking
. I have a terrible time staying over the bar long enough.
. ...and keeping my knees back is the transition.
... I bring the knees and hips in way too early, for my body type.
. Trying cue the hell out it..STAY OVER THE BAR

    6-12-2017 MON

    -SNATCH-
. did some drills and shit, work up to 165 with that (drills)
. 175x1; 185x1; 195x7-8 tries . . . got 2 but toesey; 2 more close; 3 not even; one behind, barely . . .this was the best path, caught me off guard
. started messing around with different bar start positions and what not (on the 195s)
. WHICH, all this is funny and/or sad depending how you looks at it . . . 200 is my all time PR.
. AND my squat is in the toilet now (see below) . . . I am not "strong" . . . I am not useful person . . . and prob easy to kill.
. I've been doing with the bar as close as possible to midfoot (borderline Ripp model) . . . I don't think that works for me.
. Seems like highish hips (not crazy high) and just behind ball of foot start (def.not midfoot) yield best bar paths
. Funny even tho at balls, bar leaves ground pretty much straight up, but the bar weight:lifter weight ratio is light.
. have really long arms, i think my lower legs interfere with the bar path during the transition phase...no matter how hard I try to keep my knees back.

    -HBBS-
    . slow and easy descent
    . 115x5; 185x3; 212.5 3x8 at 3:00 intervals (~2:30 rest or less).
. yeah, that's right, micro loading back squats like a chick or old dude; fuckoff peeps!
    . +7.5# per week . . .5 too little, 10 too much . . .considering 3x8 with slight rest periods.

    -SOT PRESS BTN SNG-
    . 45x5; 95x5; 120x3; 140 4x5

    -SUPINATED LAT PULLDOWN DEVICE THING-
    . (45+45+25+5+2.5) ea side . . . 4x10 @ 3:00 intervals
    . massive lat pump

    AS GOD AS MY WITNESS, I WILL SNATCH TWO HUNDRED TWENTY FIVE AMERICAN POUNDS BY THE END OF THE YEAR ! ! ! ! ! O R D I E T R Y I N G !!!

you have one hell of a workout ( I know, supposed to say "training") regime. With all the OLY work, it is different than most on here which is what makes it so interesting. Keep up the good work.

Nice place. It looks like they taped the seams of whatever they used for flooring. Does that stick well?
