    Deadlift
    115 x 2 x 5 - lumbar on both sides being bitchy
    175 x 3 -
    230 x 2 - Grip the bar tighter
    260 x 2 - And and push the floor

    290 X 5 - Felt sloppy, video says otherwise

    Notes

FINALLY got the 290 for five, catching my deadlift up to where it started the month in only three lifting sessions.

I'm starting to have grip issues as noted before, but chalking the thumb is helping a lot with that. I tried hook grip on a 230 warm-up but I can't get my fingers over the thumb enough to grip securely.

    Bench press
    45 x 2 x 5
    70 x 5
    105 x 3
    140 x 2
    157.5 x 2 - fast bar speed

175 x 5 - left foot slipped at liftoff, slow reps throughout
175 x 5 - Bad footing again, liftoff felt off
    175 x 5 - Focused and done

    Notes

Not much to say, apparently one lift a day is it. Still going up across the board.

    Squat
45 x 10 - right hip feels squishy and making odd sounds
    95 x 5 - ibid
    145 x 3 - ibid
    195 x 2
    220 x 2 - VERY slow

    245 x 5
    225 x 5
    225 x 5

    Notes
I was not feeling like lifting at all tonight, but since I blew it off last night today was the day.

The last warm up set felt VERY slow and I mentally prepared myself that three might be it. Once it came off the rack - and after banking the right hook a little - the reps went fairly well.

    Seated OHP
    45 x10
    60 x 4
    80 x 2 - Terrible - got out of line and struggling
    90 x 2 - Worlds better!

    100 x 5 - Slow but okay
    100 x 5 - Terrible liftoff, sliped right foot.
    100 x 5

    Notes
Feeling awful with post-nasal drip and a sore throat, but blew off last night so this day for sure.
The 45 x 10 as a first warm up set seems to be working okay across the board.
Looks like I'll leave March pretty close to where I came in, lift wise.
Started back on watching my eating as my belly's gotten out of control, to the point where I'm actively avoiding weigh-ins.

    Squat
    45 x 10 - right knee crunchy sounds?
    95 x 5
    145 x 3 - Slow and controlled
    195 x 2
    215 x 2 - VERY slow

    235 x 5 - Felt a little shaky
    225 x 5 - sloppy & loose
    225 x 5 - better than the second set

    Notes
Yay, sick again. Spent Friday through Monday sleeping 12+ hours a day and feeling like someone drained two pints of blood out of me without the benefit of letting me know. I'm still not 100% but I can whine about it or intermittently lift and hope things flatten out.

I was going to go for 245 - my last squat ID - but the way 215 felt it would have been a single rep set. 235 felt slow enough.

    Seated OHP
    45 x10
    60 x 4
    80 x 2
    90 x 2

    100 x 5 - Fifth rep was slow
100 x 5 - same at the previous set, rep for rep
    100 x 5 - YES!

    Notes

That was a good day. No loss on SOHP after a ten-day layoff hasn't happened before. Everything clicked and the bar went up.

    Squat
    45 x 10 - right hip/knee making a lot of crunching sounds
    95 x 5 - solid
    145 x 3
    195 x 2 - kind of heavy
    215 x 2 - slow, but good

235 x 5 - Slow overall and grindy last rep
235 x 5 - really loose and sloppy, right hand slipping from rep three on
    235 x 5 - Grinding throughout

    Notes

Who got sick again? Who eats like an idiot? Who couldn't sleep much past 0400? Who chugs 20g BCAA, 20g L-glutamine, and 200mg caffeine and squatted? Yea, this guy.

It wasn't great, but it wasn't unexpecedly awful either. Skipped LTEs beforehand and still could get into position easily, so I may drop them as warm-ups.

I was reading through your logs, you sure have come back great from those medical issues. I had one surgery for a prostate problem about 14 years ago and it was a scary experience for me. I'm much older them you and trying to find the right amount of work/ recovery is my goal. Seems I think if I don't work out often enough I feel lazy, and if I go back to soon either I make no progress or get injured. Watched your sqt videos and the look fine. Good luck with your training.

    Bench press
    45 x 10
    55 x 5
    80 x 3
    110 x 2
    121.25 x 2
    135 x 5 - really easy
    150 x 5 - slower but still easy

    165 x 5 - Good set
165 x 5 - elbow flaring on rep three and five
    165 x 5 - same on rep four

    Notes

So, when you read your own notes, try to better differentiate between 135 and 175. My last bench session was 175 x 3 x 5 on March 26th - almost a month ago.

I know those feels soooooooo well. Fifty years old and I feel like I recover like I'm in my mid-sixties. I'll just keep grinding it out and see where it goes. Thanks for the encouragement.

    135 x 2 x 5
    175 x 3
    230 x 2
    260 x 2

    290 x 4 - Weak-kneed lockout on third rep, bailed on fifth

    Notes
Not too bad. The usual preworkout (20g BCAA, 20g L-glutamine, and 200mg caffeine) and waited a half-hour before hitting the gym.

The third rep I got the bar to the top but the knees were still soft unlocked; that's why I was at the top for as long as I was on that rep. Fifth rep felt wrong as soon as it broke the platform and I bailed as soon as it stopped.
