Even if I'm not very competitive at that weight, I can gain weight the "right way," and hopefully do a bit better in the 205s. We'll see; the only way to find out is to try it.
Well, I reckon you look pretty good these days. Or, these days as of a couple months ago.

    Thick, solid, etc etc.

Also on a more serious note, it's really very hard to see ourselves in an accurate way. The forcible realignment of some of the cognitive machinery that I've experienced over the last nine months has made that very clear.

True. But, I see pictures of myself from then, and I would rather not be that way again.

I know that these parts can look down on weight loss and such as a waste of time or, worse, an excuse to stay weak, but we all have our own ideas of what's worthwhile. Personally, I think the challenge of swallowing my pride for a momentary setback and retaining the will to rebuild is where I'd like to put my efforts for now. Time will tell what actually happens, though. Bacon & egg cheeseburgers sound awesome right now.

And on that note, today went bad. No gas. I thought maybe I could handle a couple weeks of LP to get back on track with the (minor) boost in calories, but I don't think so. I could barely move under the bar. The baby had a strange reaction to the time change, too. I guess he decided that if we're losing an hour he'd take 3 more for good measure. He wakes up at 4, with no intention of going back to sleep. So, that's a thing.

It's a process, and I'm learning as I go. Body weight is the priority for me, however, so, I expect some friction on lifting.

    BW - 202 (201.7 3-day rolling average)

Bodyweight is a priority for me as well. Not that I have any insight, but in my experience LSD has been better than HIIT for weight loss, assuming you can afford the extra 30 minutes to do a real cardio session. Not because the weight loss itself is superior (about the same), but because LSD doesn't mess as much with recovery from lifting.

If you beat me in the race to 550 while losing weight I'll be embarrassed.

I try to walk a lot at work. I don't know if it does much, but it's nice to get outside more and away from my desk.

Well, you do BJJ, so I would say we're even. Also, are we doing 550 or 600?

    F. You're right. 600 it is. (550 is my intermediate, near-term goal.)

    BW - 200.8

    Squat:

    45 x 5 x 2, 135 x 3, 205 x 3, 255 x 3

    Press:

    w/u - 45 x 5 x 2, 95 x 3, 125 x 3, 155 x 2, 175 x 1
    work sets - 185 x 5, 170 x 5 x 3

    Assistance:

    Dips - BW x 5, 2

    Notes:

Short one. Thought maybe I could get another squat session in, but my legs disagreed. I was thinking about bench singles, but I wanted to help with the baby. Moderately happy with the press, at least I didn't lose more than ~8%.
