Carrying on my log from strengthvillain here.

Attempting to consistently lift all year using GSLP.

    Last lifts were:

    Bench 60kg - 5 5 12
    Squat 100kg - 5 5 7
    Press 45kg - 5 5 8
    Deadlift 120kg - 7

    Bodyweight somewhere around 90-95kg.

    'Assistance' will be bodyweight stuff.

Had my coffee and ready to lift weights!

Elbow compression socks are on as tendonitis has been flaring up recently and I spent a lot of today either moving heavy shit or smacking a spade into stone. So its gotta be done.

Thinking I may buy something better for this purpose. Looking into Rehband Neoprene sleeves..

    Bench 62.5kg (9) - 5 5 12
    Squat 102.5kg (7) - 5 5 8

    16 chins, 33 pushups, 33 squats - 4 minutes.

12 reps on bench felt great! Smashed the other weaks 9..

Switching to normal grip and pressing before squats is doing wonders. Oh yeah, plus the elbow sleeves.

Before xmas I was getting close to 130kg on squats so need to get back up there. Still, good to work on form on the way back up there.

Could have got more but I ran out of gas, need to get cardio up! Conditioning only took 4 mins so will step up next session.

    Nice.

Bit tired after work and not really in the mood but fuck it lets try.

In fact my shoulders feel pretty fried from this weak already. But hey, thats a high impact intense job for you!

    Press 46.25kg (6) - 5 5 7
    Deadlift 122.5kg (9) - 6
    20 mins: 2 chins, 4 pushups, 6 squats - 29 rounds, 0 reps

Not the greatest form on first set of press. Same last reps of second. Need to get better at keeping things 'tighter' and elbows tucked in / bar moving straight and evenly etc.

I think my job affects the movement. After years of digging I have more flexibility and probably strength down one side of my back. It affects my squat too I think. With deads I use double overhand to try to keep things more symmetrical now.

Beat press reps to beat. Elbow sleeves may have helped. Wanted more but fucked up 8th rep.

Read up on deadlift form a bit before going for work set, but it kinda threw me off and I wasnt really feeling it. Fuck!

Feel a bit zonked and officially bushed after AMRAP.

    Last few sessions.

    5 rounds - 4 chins, 12 pushups, 20 squats - 6 mins

    20 chins, 41 pushups, 41 squats - 5min 21s

    Bodyweight shiz again:

    20 minutes: 2 chins, 4 pushups, 6 squats - 35 rounds 6 reps.

Burner! More rounds than last time.

Only slept like 5 hours last night. Need to get this insomnia sorted.

Dont have recovery to lift. Still keeping up bw stuff.

    To new beginnings!

Also I'm handing in my job notice tomorrow. Starting new work next month with a big pay rise and less hours! Hard work pays off!

    This years goals:

Wealth: Start new job. Work hard, do well. Complete postgraduate diploma.

Health: Consistently lift all year and get stronger than last year on the big lifts.

    Love: Make a baby haha.

Tired and sleep deprived today. Havent lifted in a month, here goes.

    Squat 105kg - 5 5 5
    Press 45kg - 5 5 10
    Chins - 10 10
    BW 92kg

Didnt push squats. They felt heavy as it was. Dont want DOMS tomoz in case I get lugged with doing something really shit at work ha.

Also I've added in my barbell weight to the lifts now. Its not an olympic bar, it's just a 5kg thing. Which seems lighter than I thought.

Not too hard a day at work today. Just planting a beech hedge.

    Bench 65kg - 5 5 11
    Curl 25kg - 10 10
    Deadlift 115kg - 10

11 or 12 reps on bench. Lost count.
Deadlift felt really good. Should have kept going and pushed for 15.

    Press 47.5kg - 5 5 7
    Chins - 10 11
    Squat 107.5kg - 5

Press got stuck on 8th rep. Should have got more like 9.

Needs to fet chins back uo. I had 13 reps before xmas.

Feel tired today. Sucks. Couldnt muster more squats. Sad sad day.

Some times work sure can beat you down. I am retired and most days training is the hardest thing I do. But it snowed here last week and shovelling forced a 2 day break.good luck with your training.

Thanks man. Will get back at it. After doing a load of reading lately (dangerous) and listening to podcasts I've actually been considering going back to straight up Starting Strength again, see how I fare cutting off the reps at 5 instead of AMRAPS...

Also, do I recognise your name BrooklynJerry from somewhere? Did you use to be on the Strengthvillain forums? Or maybe I'm imagining that haha.

Cheers. Good luck with your training too.
