    Another bust.

    Military Press: 95x5, 135x3, 155x2, 185x2, 205x1, 225x1, 225xF, handful of singles at 205 (5 of them?)

    Time: NM
    BW: NM

Today's session was awful. I didn't want to lift, I was still sore from Thursday's pressings, and just moving the plates for deadlift warmups felt ridiculously heavy. I do have a bunch of work travel over the next three weeks, so maybe I just focus on some upper body work and maybe a cardio session or two.

I have an offer from a friend on an old C2 rower for $200. It needs a new monitor, but that still seems like a deal. Fiddleedee.

And in other news, I'm still benching less than you press. Maybe in a few years I can have awful session that include a 225lb OHP. Enjoy your density/Hanley blocks.

I had sympathy nausea on that 515x6. Impressive.

    Thanks guys!

@ Aaron: keep pushing forward. You'll get and exceed 225!

@ Matt - thanks for the link. I'm looking forward to having a reliable cardio option that isn't running. Running is great, but being able to sit on my ass is even better.

@ Eric - thanks. Those two last reps (the ones I didn't get) really messed me up this week. Nausea is a good descriptor!

    Commercial gyms aren't the best

    Military Press: 95x5, 135x3, 165x2, 185x23 in 9:54.70

    Curls: 95x5, 120x1, 140x20 in 9:47.94

Time: ~ 30 minutes or so
    BW: NM

Today's training session was at the Gold's Gym in Concord, MA. It took a while to convince the desk attendee I was on travel, and didn't want to buy a summer pass. In the end, she could figure out how to pay for a day pass via credit card, so I got to train for free.

Presses were quite hard today. I got 20 curls, which was my goal, but I think they deserve repeating next week with better performance. They don't have a way to squat with safeties, so I'll need to find another place tomorrow. Or skip squats and just do some light cardio in the hotel "fitness room".

As always, next week will be better.

Thanks for the idea. On further review, I've been doing this same programming for a while. Andy Baker had a recent article about the timing of different programs. It could be that I make better progress overall if I don't grind week in & week out for several months.

    Better than expected.

    Military Press: 95x5, 135x3, 155x2, 185x2, Density block: 205x18 in 9:56.46

Curls (strict): 95x5, Density Block: 120x30 in 9:22.16

    Time: 32 minutes
    BW: 267.5lb

Today was a decent session after all. It turns out that if you drink enough caffeine to drive home safely late at night, you'll likely be wired for sound for a few additional hours. This results in a fun state when combined with some toddlers waking up early, excited for the day. The press set was tough - I went to very high level of effort way too early in the block (~set 6/10), which made the last ~4 minutes difficult, with a LOT of grinders in the last 6 reps. 18 reps isn't too bad though, and next week will be even better. As usual, curls were fun.

    starting strength coach development program
I now own a C2 rower. Model C, for $200 & lunch. Apparently the display doesn't work, but a new monitor is only $180 if needed at all.

    Solid.
