Ticking off the first of my 2015 goals and starting a new log. Feels good.

Quick story update if you CBA reading old logs: never done any form of training until may 2013. Found SS in July 13 and started training, but I never DTFP because I never ate properly, stunting progress. I then went into an I'll fated 5/3/1 period, before transitioning into a TM 4 day split.

    Current program:
    Monday: Bench ID/press VD/HIIT
    Tuesday: squat ID/oly lift/sgdl
    Thursday: press ID/bench VD/HIIT
    Friday: deadlift/ squat VD/Chin ups

    Current stats:
    Male, 35yo, 5'11
113kg, body fat around 25% (hence the hiit)
    Best squat: 175
    Best deadlift: 185
    Best bench: 100 (paused)
    Brest press: 72.5
    Best snatch: 65
    Best clean: 85

I have my own business and 3 young boys so I have to manage stress and lack of sleep as part of my training. Also being formerly obese and blessed with an efficient metabolism I put on weight really easily (both fat and muscle) so I don't eat that much. It's all part of the journey.
I tend to stick to sets of 5 for ID, with back of sets for the upper body lifts, then transition to triples leading up to competition. I may start playing around with deadlift volume as I'm not happy with this lifts progress.

    Did I forget anything?

Oh, I should add that I have a competition on Feb 1, and am under prepared (was sick before Christmas then had 2 weeks of training), but I'm not competative anyway, so I'll go along for the experience. I've done a couple of novice comps and 1 real one in the last year.

I am very lucky in that there is a good gym a one minute walk from my office, iron grip.

There's a few strong guys who train there, a local rugby team (who I barely see) but mostly corporate types on the treadmill. That's fine with me, more bars and plates for me!

See you there! You gonna fit in 110 class or just go in whatever you land in?
Nice new log, good to tick the first goal off the list.

How has the hiit been working for you? I've just started doing tabata on cybex something at the gym after my lifts. It definitely gets my heartbeats going. Usually I'll do one set on there and then a set of mixed kettlebell swings.

I hate it. I think I am allergic to all cardio. I go all flushed, I sweat, and feel out of breath

When I can keep up twice a week I notice a body comp difference, but I'm pretty bad at keeping up twice a week. Explains why I'm still a fatass. I like tabata on a rower (or other movements) but I cant get to a high enough intensity on a bike. When on a bike I prefer Jordan's style hiit.
