Why are these exercises necessary if you are doing the squat, press, deadlift, bench press, and power clean?
I have searched as best I know how to find the answer to my question so I apologize in advance if this has been asked before.
The question is, do you advocate the avoiding injury exercises from the Men's Journal article and if so how often should they be performed? Should they be performed on the off days?

I had no idea they had human a human equivalent of the hamster wheel as a training device (see OP's link). You truly never stop learning.
