Her picture is the only thing interesting here.
Just an article showing how weak men are becoming mentally with a need for approval from others. I expect it to be the exception since getting to that level requires a focus on performance.
The picture and description of olympic thrower Amanda Bingston is cool and inspiring.
Bryce Harper'''s Extreme Regimen For ESPN'''s Body Issue Shows Body Image Is A Problem For Men Too
Her picture is the only thing interesting here.
Throwing hammer barefoot would suck. There would be blood everywhere if I did it, and I'd probably manage to break a few toes.
He went through all that and his pecs don't look any bigger than a 12-year old's?[Harper's preparation] consisted of three workouts and six meals a day until it consisted of none, that final week when Bryce Harper consumed only juice. Seven different raw juices. Over the final two weeks, before he exposed each of his muscles to ESPN’s photographers, he put salt in his drinking water so he could hydrate himself without gaining weight.
On the final day, before he stripped naked and recorded the results for the world, he rose for one final workout, but when he went to refresh himself, he spit the water out. When he arrived at the field at the University of Nevada Las Vegas for the shoot, his system was completely depleted. He shoved raw, white potatoes down his throat because he knew the glucose and glycine they contained would run straight to his muscles — which yearned for something, any kind of nourishment they could find.
“It makes you pop,” Harper said. “It makes you stand out.”
I think the interesting thing here (I agree with you on Bingston - both her body and her attitude about it are amazing, It's sad that we find her attitude about her body "amazing," but...) is Bryce Harper. Bryce Harper lied to us. He admits it. He did a 6-week cut in order to " shoot down the belief that baseball players aren't as physically fit or trim as athletes in other sports." He did this by going on an exercise / diet plan that he could not maintain for any significant period of time nor would allow him to participate in his sport. Which is the exact opposite of what the Body magazine issue is supposed to be about (which is to show us, the plebes, the bodies our betters who compete in sports have / use to compete in their sport). Amanda Bingston contravenes most if not all of what the Hollywood / fashion / magazine industry (INCLUDING ESPN) considers "beautiful." Bryce Harper was attempting to conform to his perception of what that was. In doing so, he lied to us.

Hammer Thrower Amanda Bingson, Sports Illustrated Cover
this is a better article on the honest athlete.
Huffington Post is crap. The whole site has a very feminist / anti-men slant, and this article is no different.
Lucy McClarmont needs to find something better to do with her time than mentally masturbating over a fucking nudie mag. Though she's probably not good for much beyond impotent hand wringing over inconsequential problems.
Maybe Harper was being himself. He doesn't seem like a particularly bright individual to begin with. She was being herself and allowing her photos to simply represent who she is.
