Based on our conversation at lunch, I present to you Go Go Gophers

My apologies to gophers everywhere should this prove offensive.

I now understand why no one remembers this cartoon.

That's because those people are too young. They likely never heard of it. I remember this cartoon and even the theme song just having had my memory jogged by the term go go gophers.

I loved that cartoon. Now if you want to get into something really special, I suggest Commander McBragg.

You should have seen Rip's face when I broke into "Go Go Gophers....Ooga Booga Booga Booga Booga Booga Boo!" He looked as if he was thinking about pushing me out of the car.

Good thing you didn't tell him about the Cactus Pete show.

Brian, far be it from me to make a comment on some old cartoon probably from the 1960's, but it would probably get a better response from those folk down there in the lawn mowing section.

And don't forget Rocky and Bulwinkle. I who am not even a citizen of the USA remember that nonsense, because we over here had only B/W TV and had to import this stuff along with the Andy Griffith show.

I'm sure it could turn into a saga in E & P. Rip and I were having a conversation on the way back from lunch the other day brought on by him using the phrase, "Curses - foiled again" (in response to hitting a red light). From there, while trying to remember the origins of "Curses - foiled again" which I proposed was Snidely Whiplash, I remembered Go Go Gophers and proceeded to sing the catchy theme (as earlier referenced by Officer Hurling).

A long and much too detailed explaination as to why Go Go Gophers ended up in Rip's thread.
