Hey Mark, if your cleans are close to 200 pounds or more, do you see any issue with catching them in the hang as long as you can handle it? I'm pretty sure I heard you make mention of that's how it used to be done (before bumper plates existed), and that's why the older generation was stronger. I feel like this will also help my grip get stronger.

    Easier on the equipment too.

I have always caught Power Cleans, but I first noticed my recent Tennis Elbow during the catch (at 170lbs), and have since had to start dropping them. I'm not sure that I'll go back to catching them even after I heal. All the bars at my gym are already bent to hell, mainly from people setting them down across benches, so screw the equipment.

"I'm so tired of hearing about this shit, I don't know what to do." Rip saying this has been my text alert sound for 3 years.

Some also just drop the bar down the chest and catch it:

This is my first forum community. Just learned there is some witchcraft and voodoo magic called the "Search Forums" section. Wish I had used this before asking a question that's been answered so many times. Going forward, I'm going to work so hard on coming up with original questions. On a positive note, my Clean sets are at 195 and I hadn't ommited them out of the program, so I'm getting stronger than all the pussies that did

Interesting. I've recently started noticing some discomfort that I figured might be Tennis Elbow, and couldn't think of any activities that might be causing it other than holding an oversized smart phone in that hand for long periods...

I'll start paying attention to it more during PC/Press (I clean from the floor for Press)
