I think we should maybe rethink this freedom thing.

Other than taste, I respectfully disagree. The reason I disagree is the the difference in the amount of fat between normal and 2% is so negligible so as to not be worth it. Now, if you like the taste, well, have at it. I'd rather drink water than skim, though.

    2) My wife and I drink skim because of the calorie difference. Growing up we drank 1%. As you might have guessed I am from WI, fridge is always stocked full of milk and cheese (no joke). Is there that much more of a benefit to the whole milk and if so what is it? Is it strictly a calorie thing on this plan? The post from Mr. Rippetoe suggests one can cut the milk altogether. I have noticed my metabolism slowing over the last couple years, don't eat nearly what I did and am slowly gaining weight.
I'm 53 and overdid the milk during my initial LP. I just cut the fat from my midsection that I had accumulated. Not easy

    Macros are easy:

    Fritos (carbs)
    Pork rinds (fat)
    Beef jerky (protein)

With water, you could literally live on this, and see some mega-gainzzz.

Wait, where did 2% come up? We were comparing skim milk and whole milk. And considering there's 8g of fat in 1 cup of whole milk, I wouldn't call that negligible, especially if you're drinking 4+ cups per day. I'm not against whole milk, I just prefer to get my fat from other sources.

Your're right. My bad on the 2% v. skim.

I also prefer getting my fat from other sources, but if I'm going to drink milk, which, being older, is not as frequent as it used to be, I'm going to enjoy it. That is, whole.
