Again, I do not recall where on this forum I saw this... but a dedicated lifter went through open heart surgery and then bed-bound recovery.
He noted (through titration) that even though he wasn't training he had to triple his caloric intake to stop losing weight in the hospital bed. Recovering from illness takes a lot of resources, fuel accordingly.

I once did high rep light squats and DL as rehab in a workout. Had mono later that evening.

That will always give you mono. Stick with heavy 5s.
