Descent on the press
Hey Rip,
Is the descent on the press basically the pressing movement itself in reverse, i.e. bar comes straight down until it nears forehead level, at which point the body moves back to get out of the way and then forward a little to the starting rack position?

This is basically correct, except that the starting position is just slightly back from vertical so that a vertical bar path can be accommodated. This means that you don't come back forward after it clears your face, because if you do the bar with have to go back up around your chin in a non-vertical path.
