    Default Sex detrimental to progress?

    • starting strength seminar august 2024
    Does sex/masturbation have a negative effect on gaining strength? Does it decrease the amount of protein your body has? Or is all just an old wives tale?

    It is the ONLY reason I stopped competing. And it's damed sure too late to start back now.

    As for the science, ask yourself this question: do I know any porn stars that squat 600? No, my friend, you don't. And there you have it.

    You stopped because of the sex or masturbation or both?
    I think the reason why you can't find too many porn stars who squat 600 is more because of the fact that they don't lift weights properly on a proper program, rather than...

    Yeah, those porn dudes are all upper body and chicken legs. Not that I know from watching porn. Just the word on the street.

    haha. Maybe they are too busy to train hard? Sex is just a physical activity though right, I mean I wouldn't think it would interfere anymore than jogging.
