"Pretty good" is an understatement me thinks. Shiny red equipment, quality racks, machined metal ivanko plates, platforms - beats any place I've trained at. I recognise one of the guys in the background of one of your deadlift vids on your youtube channel, the guy with the bright blue trackies, he posts on ausbb.com That place is a shit hole but it has some good posters. What's the gym's name? Arboresque.
Where abouts you from Simon? I think I recognise the gym you train in (from the youtube videos). Is it in Canberra? Arboresque.
Hey mate, The J hooks should be fine since you're not going to be dumping the bar onto them from any great height. If you reinforced the safties that would probably make it a hell strong rack (heck, there are people who have made wooden rack before), and given you have the know how I'd go for it. You could probably even do rack pulls off them if they were re-inforced. Cheers, Simon
Hey mate didn't want to post shit in your log. That rack, its rated at 350kg, is that the safetys, or the j hooks? If its the safetys, I can put a row of timber studs under it, I'm a carpentry apprentice so it will be easy, this will make it strong as fuck. If its the j hooks, I don't think I'll ever be able to squat more than 350kg. As I've never done rack pulls, do I do them off the safetys? What do u think? That rack u suggested way outa my price range as I'm saving for a house and missus would shoot me if I brought that. Will putting timber under safetys work?
