Been on and off to the gym my entire life, never following a program. So never got strong. Hitting 40, pains here and there, I bought a power rack and weights. Got mad, really.
Got some help understanding the main problems (left hip impingement + left elbow hurt like hell doing anything, if I don't retract/lower shoulder very well, could only curl like 11 pounds, prevented chinups completely, and other things too).
Been doing power lifting since. A bit of training ADD; SS/SL5x5/Candito 6w/Sheiko. Been working around my issues - very focused on knees out, slooooooooooow LP on chinups (using bands at first). Hip still sensitive to knees caving/not wide enough stance. Elbow a ton better. Can't AMRAP chinups, but 6-7 works, before it hurts. Will move to weighted.
In 9 months 1RM deads 300->400 , squats 200->300, bench 200->265. Novice gains seem to have stopped coming. Currently milking the last novice gains, using the tips in PPST.
