Water balance question
I am type 2 diabetic, and I was eating low carb <50g daily, but not losing much weight, if any.
My wife joined a little weight loss group at the gym, and I went along with her... basically the guy didn't pitch any special diet aside from getting enough fruits vegetables, and non "grainy" carbs in your diet.. i.e... "we all know what the heck we are supposed to be eating, we just chose not to do it". We weighed in and got measured and he set up exercise plans for those who needed one.
I started experimenting with plain oatmeal/berries along with my HB eggs in the morning and all was good with my glucometer... more greenery and brocolli and stuff like that has had no effect with readings. I have definately been eating less cals (but more carbs/protein less fat) than before, but I am up 4-5 lbs. I am wondering if this is just a water balance issue?

Sounds like some glycogen and increased fluid in the intravascular space to me.
