Jordan,
Are you aware of any good smoking cessation remedy's
/ medication?
A couple questions for you Jordan. How bad are they if the smoke isn't being directly inhaled into your lungs (like a cigarette)? Is there that much of a negative impact on your health if you just smoke a cigar/pipe once a week? I realize this is anecdotal "evidence", but I know a guy who smokes at least 6 bowls of pipe tobacco a day, is over 50, and passes his physical exams and bloodwork with flying colors. So I guess I've thought that smoking pipes isn't that bad, compared to folks who chain smoke cigarettes.
Also, would you consider sitting in bad traffic to be equally as bad as being a non-cigarette smoker? I always wonder when I'm stuck behind a bus or something in rush hour if my lungs are hating me.
Would you lump crack cocaine in this group as well?

If smoking can control you, then you are not strong at all.

Evidence can be mentally masturbated about on both of these, but hey...some decent evidence, relatively.

My experience is that folks relapse a number of times, then finally kick it when they are internally motivated to do so for any number of reasons.
It's pretty bad, though it of course depends on the amount of particulate matter and types of matter that are being inhaled, duration, volume, genetic predispositions to developing pathology, etc.
It's all bad, despite some anectodal evidence to the contrary.
Of course not.
Addiction is a tough thing. I wouldn't be so harsh.
Chantix took me from a pack a day, to stopping on my own, cold turkey, within a month. It was amazing. All of a sudden, I literally had no desire to smoke anymore.
I continued using chantix for 6 weeks while titrating off of it and had minimal cravings of any sort. This after smoking for over 20 years. As close to a modern day medical miracle as I'll ever see.
