No, but it does require medical training to have an intelligent opinion.

Jordan, based on your intelligent medical opinion, would it be better for me to hold 210 with my 40" gut, or would it be ok to slowly cut my caloric intake and try to get some excess fat off? I was thinking about dropping 100 calories/week, and then when weight loss plateaus, drop another 100 calories/week. Figure if I went from 172 to ~212 in 8 months, that 1/2 of the weight is probably fat, so slowly cutting down to 192 might be reasonable? Then next time I bulk I'll take a slower pace...

I think the most important thing here is your programming from a strength, hypertrophy, conditioning, and body fat manipulation perspective and some health stuff too.

I don't think going on a cut right now is likely high yield given our previous discussion.

You are not at risk right now of anything requiring immediate attention so don't let this dick weed Kiril, who has no medical experience, no medical training, and has no rationale for any opinion within this subject matter.

Translation: do The Bridge, maintain bodyweight with 4700 cals/day, take omega 3/fish oil, and see what happens to my gut after 8 weeks?

    Yep, minus the fish oil.

Oh, is that not a good way to get my HDL up? Should I be looking into some other supplement/food for that?

So basically your 2 HDL measurements are within the error of the test so I'm not sure it changed. Further, no- fish oil doesn't really raise reliably.
