Default squat progression for novice program

    Mr Rip,

I am a month into the novice program. my squats are obviously increasing quicker than the other lifts bc i do them every workout and they are getting much harder and "heavier" relative to the other lifts, which still feel "light". My question is, can I increase the squat weight every other workout or will that stall progress?

    Thanks

Increase till you stall and eat/sleep to make sure you don't. Stalling as a novice is fine; not knowing where to go from there isn't.

It's going to continue to feel heavier because...squats are really heavy. They never start feeling light. Even once you get into intermediate programming, even your light squat days are going to feel heavy while you're under the bar.
