Hey guys, I'm on TM programming now and am including back extensions at the end of light day. Currently I do 2-3 sets of 10 reps while holding a 70 pound dumbbell, which makes the sets pretty tough but it's not close to failure. Right now I'm just adding 5 pounds each week which probably won't last very long. So I guess I should keep incrementally loading back extensions just like the compound movements? Is reaching failure with a back extension something to avoid and/or worry about?

You place a barbell in front of the GHR and grab it. You may need straps once it gets heavy. You should worry about reaching failure in any movement.

Yeah that would definitely make microloading work. Thanks.

Yeah I'm aware of him. I just didn't consider myself nearly big or strong enough to try to emulate anything he was doing haha.

I like Pete. Seems like a humble guy and regular dude from what little you can tell about a person from videos.

Go for the bar instead of dumbbell(s). This emulates the same grip and musculature that you'll use in the real lifts.
