Hanley,
Just checked your log and you went from a 425x5 deadlift to a 505x5 deadlift in 6 months doing TM as written. That's probably about a 100 lb increase in 1 RM. That seems pretty good.
But yeah, your bench basically didn't move.
Also, seems like your squat went up about 60 pounds or so before some injury issues and your press actually saw a nice jump too. Seems like as an extension of regular SSLP, it worked well for you for about 4-6 months. It's almost like a last phase of novice type thing it seems like rather than intermediate programming.
I think TM left me off at
Bench: ~340x1
Press: 240x1
Squat: 420x4 (hurt myself going for 5th rep)
Dead: 585x1
These #s aren't bad. But I honestly think my "intermediate" results could have/should have been better. I gained very little muscle mass, so the period after TM was a dark, dark time.
I took 1 Irish literature course. 20 years ago. Amazing course. Amazing books. Haven't read shit since.
I've mentioned this before, dude, but I've never seen anyone come close to your tap #s. My sample data includes a handful of pro (and former pro) athletes. Tapping is your primary talent in life. Don't sin against talent. Quit whatever stupid engineering shit you do, and spend your days tapping.
That was in a pretty short period of time too, right? 6 months on the press, deadlift and bench and about 4-5 on the bench. I get you on the muscle mass thing, but it seems hard to believe alternative programming would have been much better for your lifts in that time period. It seems that you kept trying to get more out of it for another year or so after that and got nothing much, but had you just moved on from it after 4-6 months, it might have been pretty ideal.
