    My press is 230 and my bench is 280, but I've always had a really weak bench. Probably because my dominant pec is about 60% the size of my non dominant. Birth defect I think. Doesn't see to affect my press very much.

    I feel like the takeaway here is that getting stronger helps your press...

    I agree. But there are those here that need to say that by plotting points on a graph. I don't get it either, but we let them have their fun anyways.

    I have noticed that sets of 3s don't last long at all for OH Press progress.

    Yes, I'd prefer to just press all the time, but keyboard-work interferes less with recovery.

    FWIW
    I just finished a 6 week phase of 3X3 on the BP, P and IP. I stopped with my bench press at 275# and my P at 192.5#. So my ratio is at 70%, much like the statistics cited. Starting today I'm heading back down to where I started the triples and doing 3 sets of 5 using the same weights. It will be interesting to see how it goes for this old fart.
