crushed my left hand in elevator door

Crushed my left hand in freight elevator door yesterday. Imagine having your hand out for a handshake and then a door coming up from below and one coming down and smashing your thumb and palm in the doors.

Work doctor says he can't see fractures at all in the xrays. My hand is swollen like a fucking balloon and is purple. I see him again Monday.

My question is this: My hand really fucking hurts, so would those metal hook grip things for deadlifting be alright to use until my paw is less sore?

Tried searching but I didn't see about the hook thingies. I'm on vicodin and vodka right now.
