    Hi Rip,

I'll get straight to it because I know you're a busy man.

I hurt my right shoulder doing dips roughly a month ago. I felt a shooting pain in my right shoulder which settled down fairly quickly. I finished my work out. I iced it and took a few days off. It felt okay and for the next few work-outs I ended every session with strict form presses with light weight. I did this for 4 days.

Well, during my next shoulder work out things were feeling okay - the shoulder felt a little overstretched at times (that's the best way I can describe it). Next morning, I woke up with horrible pain in the front of my shoulder. Gave it a few days and didn't get better.

I went to the first doctor who requested an MRI and recommends something called a sub-acromial decompression. Fuck that, I'm not doing that. So I decided to go to another doctor who requests another MRI - something about the Tesla levels being higher on this machine. Ok, sure, whatever. I don't live in the U.S. and have very accessible health care. Second doctor suggests it's a sprain and nothing to really worry about. Suggests PT and if it continues he'll give me a cortisone shot.

So what do I do exactly? I can press okay; my ROM is fine; no trouble sleeping; painful shoulder when driving. MRI results are here:

Looks like we have conflicting Radiology conclusions. How old are you?

    I'm 27, Rip.

I mean one surgeon suggests surgery and the other suggests its a sprain. The bipolarity of the treatment is kind of worrying.

The one who thinks you have a bone spur is not being very "conservative" with his surgery recommendations. If it were my shoulder, I'd just train through it.

Okay, cool. So should I just follow the Starr Rehab Protocol?

Okay. I'll train through it and use common sense.
