Man, this is so 2009.
You say sumo deadlifts take off a couple of inches from the range of motion, but low bar squats also reduce ROM significantly by limiting how low you can go (before the lower back rounds). You can go deeper in a high bar squat than a low bar squat.
Now you may be right that you can lift a little more with low bar squat than high bar squat, but it is also true that when it comes to deadlifts, many can lift more sumo style than conventional style.
Man, this is so 2009.
It is impossible to stay as tight going ass to grass when compared with dipping just below parallel. The tighter you are, the better the strength adaptation. You realize the full benefit of the squat going just below parallel. Just as well, the stretch reflex in a squat should occur with the adductors. Going too deep eliminates their potential to aid in the squat.

There isn't a damn thing wrong with using Sumo. It is allowed in every major Powerlifting Organization.
